Graduation Photos

The time of year is here with tons of graduations, but his year was special because my oldest graduated from Holton High School. If you are a parent you know that it is hard to wrap your mind around how quickly the last twelve years went. Now these young adults are on to their next big chapter. Many of which will be entering college or the work force. It is truly an exciting and if I am honest a scary time as a parent.

I had the chance to take photos of these kids over the year and almost recently I did senior headshots for many of them. I believe that having a professional headshot will serve them well over the next four years.

But it is joy to celebrate with family and friends how have loved, cheered, taught, and befriended my son. Graduation ceremony’s are always busy and crowded. Over the last four years I have had the opportunity to be on floor photographing the graduates as they receive their diplomas. My favorite images are the smiles, cheers, and excited hugs that are given between graduates. These images are tough to get for parents who are sitting in the stands. My job is to get the images all the parents want…the close ups.

Holton High school has a graduating class of about 72 students. We are a close community just about 30 minutes north of Topeka Ks. These kids have grown up playing on teams together, celebrating birthdays, learning in class, and being in clubs. They are all off to different colleges and jobs now. As with all graduation ceremonies is it both bitter and sweet. I have loved every minute of watching my son becoming a young adult. Letting these kids go will be touch for us, but they are more than ready.

Parents of graduates of the class of 2024. It was an honor to take your kids photos. These. photos will be available via a google drive link the high school emails out. They are your to enjoy and download. Please contact Holton High School if you have questions about when they will be shared, but typically it is within a week or two of graduation.

My favorite tradition is the giving of the rose to the moms. This is always so special for moms and I think it is special for the grads too!
